pair-of-vintage-louis-xvi-style-bronze-20449
Pair of Vintage Louis XVI Style Bronze Two-Arm Wall Sconces, Fluted Pilaster with Pinecone Finial, Beaded Arms, Candle Lights

A tapering fluted pilaster forms the backplate of each sconce, its narrow channels lined with fine beading. It’s crowned with a pinecone finial and finished below with a small pointed drop. From the middle, two arms loop out in graceful S-curves, edged with tiny beads and curling at the elbow, and rise into wide, smooth drip pans and plain cylindrical cups ringed with knurled bands, holding ivory candle sleeves. The lines are calm, symmetrical and architectural in the Louis XVI manner. The bronze has a warm, coppery gold tone. They’re a handsome pair for either side of a bed, a mirror or a doorway.

Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition, with a warm, natural patina consistent with age.

Dimensions & Materials (each sconce)

Height: about 11 in (28 cm)
Material: Bronze
Bulb base: 2 x E12 candelabra per sconce
Includes: Two double-arm wall sconces with four candle sleeves

Lampshade: Sold without shades, leaving you free to choose ones that suit your room.

Historical Period: Louis XVI revival style; circa mid-20th century.

Electrical: Carefully prepared and professionally rewired by our workshop before dispatch; tested and delivered ready to install.

Shipping & Duties: Every piece is hand-wrapped, securely packed and fully insured for its journey to you, wherever you are in the world.
