This one is carved in translucent white alabaster. Four slender columns rise from a stepped circular base to support a broad cornice and a smooth domed roof, crowned with a ball finial. The stone has a soft, milky glow that brightens beautifully when light falls through it. Small and serene, it makes a lovely piece for a bookshelf, a mantel or a cabinet of curiosities, a small reminder of Rome and the romance of travel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition: Good Antique Condition. The original central altar and a small top ornament are missing; only the bent fixing pin remains above the ball finial.
