antique-french-adjustable-urn-table-lamp-55893-znaw
Antique French Adjustable Urn Table Lamp, Ram Head Mounts, Dark Patina, Cream Fabric Shade, Louis XVI Style

Four ram's heads look out from the sides of this urn, each hung with a small garland of flowers. It's a classical touch that gives a plain table lamp real presence.

The lamp is shaped as a dark green urn with a soft, mottled patina, set off by gilt-tone mounts. A leafy collar crowns the top, and a band of upright leaves wraps the foot. The round base is ribbed like a sunburst and edged with beading. Above the urn, a telescopic brass-tone stem with a small locking screw lets you set the height between 52 and 60 cm. The lamp comes with a conical fabric shade. Ram's heads go back to ancient Roman altars, where they recalled the animals offered to the gods. Louis XVI designers revived them on vases, tables and lights as a sign of classical taste.

The lamp is in good antique condition, with signs of age to the patina. It has come through the years with its mounts intact and is ready for a new desk or side table. Set it on a console, a library table or beside a reading chair.

Ram-head lamp: a Louis XVI style patinated urn lamp with four gilt-tone ram's head masks, a sunburst base, an adjustable stem and a fabric shade, rewired and ready to use.

DETAILS

Size: H 52–60 cm (20.5–23.6 in), adjustable · base H 30 cm (11.8 in), diameter 13 cm (5.1 in) · shade top 17 cm (6.7 in), bottom 32 cm (12.6 in), H 19.5 cm (7.7 in) — about as tall as a carry-on suitcase
Material: patinated metal, gilt-tone mounts, fabric shade
Style-Period: Louis XVI style · early 20th century
Weight: 2.5 kg (5.5 lb)
Shipping: professionally packed, fully insured, worldwide · we handle the paperwork and pay all import duties · nothing to settle on delivery
Electrical: fully rewired in our workshop before dispatch · US, UK or EU plug fitted at no extra charge · delivered working and ready to use
Condition: good antique condition · signs of age to the patina
Lampshade: Lampshade included
Returns: accepted within 30 days

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1063/5388/5529/files/il_fullxfull.8634289288_orkt_ea28739e-5acc-4684-b44a-6964300f5358.jpg?v=1791318557
