pair-of-antique-napoleon-iii-bronze-86381
Pair of Antique Napoleon III Bronze Mirrored Candle Sconces, Oval Beveled Glass with Cherub Crest and Mask, Two-Light Girandoles

Cherubs tumble all over these little girandoles. Two sit back to back among scrolling leaves at the crest, another pair climb the sides of the frame, and a winged mask with a gentle face gazes out from below. At the centre, an oval bevelled mirror sits in a frame of crisp leaves and beading, catching and doubling the candlelight. From beneath the mask, two slender arms curve out to wide, scalloped drip pans and palmette-chased candle cups. The bronze has an untouched, dark mellow patina with warmer highlights on the cherubs. They’re a charming, romantic pair for either side of a bed, a mirror or a mantel.

Condition: Good Antique Condition .

Dimensions & Materials (each sconce)

Height: 14.2 in (36 cm)
Width: 6.7 in (17 cm)
Depth: 3.1 in (8 cm)
Material: Patinated bronze, beveled mirror glass
Includes: Two mirrored candle sconces

Historical Period: Napoleon III, Renaissance revival; circa 1850–1870.

Shipping & Duties: Every piece is hand-wrapped, securely packed and fully insured for its journey to you, wherever you are in the world.
