Two candle-style lights rise from each one, giving a soft glow to a wall.

Each sconce has a shield-shaped back plate in gilt metal, topped with a small finial and decorated with a hanging chain of leaves and husks, ending in a leafy drop. Two arms curve out from the middle, wrapped in acanthus leaves. Each holds a leafy drip pan, a cream candle sleeve and a candle-style bulb. The hanging chain of small bell-shaped flowers is called a husk chain.
