pair-of-vintage-large-louis-xv-style-15819
Pair of Vintage Large Louis XV Style Bronze Wall Sconces, Three-Arm Rocaille Acanthus Design, Dark Patina with Copper Tones

At over 18 inches tall, these sconces have a commanding presence. Each one grows from a long, sweeping rocaille backplate into three arms that twist and curl like acanthus stems, sprouting leaves as they go. They end in wide, flower-shaped drip pans and ribbed tulip cups holding candle sleeves with sculpted drips. Their finish sets them apart from the usual bright gilt: a deep, dark brown patina with warm copper and rose tones glowing through on the leaf edges and petals, giving them a moody, old-world richness. Hang them in a dining room, either side of a large mirror, or anywhere a darker, more dramatic look suits the room.

Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with a dark, worn patina showing copper and rose tones on the high points, and aged candle sleeves, as pictured.

Dimensions & Materials (each sconce)

Height: 18.1 in (46 cm)
Width: 13.8 in (35 cm)
Material: Bronze
Includes: Two three-arm wall sconces with six candle sleeves

Lampshade: Sold without shades, leaving you free to choose ones that suit your room.

Historical Period: Louis XV revival style; circa mid-20th century.

Electrical: Carefully prepared and professionally rewired by our workshop before dispatch; tested and delivered ready to install.

Shipping & Duties: Every piece is hand-wrapped, securely packed and fully insured for its journey to you, wherever you are in the world.
