pair-of-vintage-louis-xvi-style-gilt-93473
Pair of Vintage Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze Two-Light Wall Sconces, Urn Backplate with Pinecone Drop and Rosette Blocks, Lights

Each of these sconces is built around a small classical urn, wrapped in pointed leaves at the neck, hung from an open loop at the top and finished below with a neat pinecone drop. Square blocks carved with rosettes frame the urn at each side, and from them two arms curve down and out, leaf-tipped and gently ribbed, before rising into fluted candle cups on round drip pans. Ivory candle sleeves with sculpted drips complete the candlelit look. The design is compact and well balanced, true to the calm lines of Louis XVI style, and the gilding is bright and warm. They’re lovely either side of a bed, a mirror or a doorway.

Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with a bright gilt finish and light wear consistent with age.

Dimensions & Materials (each sconce)

Height with sleeves: 12.6 in (32 cm)
Width: 12.2 in (31 cm)
Depth: 6.3 in (16 cm)
Weight (pair): 5.5 lb (2.5 kg)
Material: Gilt bronze
Bulb base: 2 x E12 candelabra per sconce
Includes: Two double-arm wall sconces with four candle sleeves

Lampshade: Sold without shades, leaving you free to choose ones that suit your room.

Historical Period: Louis XVI revival style; circa mid-20th century.

Electrical: Carefully prepared and professionally rewired by our workshop before dispatch; tested and delivered ready to install.

Shipping & Duties: Every piece is hand-wrapped, securely packed and fully insured for its journey to you, wherever you are in the world.
