pair-of-vintage-spanish-louis-xvi-style-87248
Pair of Vintage Spanish Louis XVI Style Gilt Brass Wall Sconces, Ribbon Bow and Tassel Backplate, Two Reeded Arms, Candle Lights

A ribbon tied in a loose, rippling bow crowns each of these sconces. Its tails fall over a slender bundle of reeds that’s bound halfway down with a twisted band and finished at the base with a pair of tassels. From the band, two smooth, reeded arms curve out and up, each tied with its own small ribbon, and rise into leafy cups set on wide, scalloped drip pans, holding ivory candle sleeves with sculpted drips. The ribbon-and-tassel design is pure Louis XVI romance, rendered in warm gilt brass. They’re graceful and well proportioned, lovely either side of a bed, a mirror or a doorway.

Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with a warm gilt finish and light wear consistent with age.

Dimensions & Materials (each sconce)

Material: Gilt brass
Bulb base: 2 x E12 candelabra per sconce
Includes: Two double-arm wall sconces with four candle sleeves

Lampshade: Sold without shades, leaving you free to choose ones that suit your room.

Historical Period: Louis XVI revival style; circa late 20th century.

Electrical: Carefully prepared and professionally rewired by our workshop before dispatch; tested and delivered ready to install.

Shipping & Duties: Every piece is hand-wrapped, securely packed and fully insured for its journey to you, wherever you are in the world.
