It’s a classic Art Deco composition, full of speed and tension. The goddess wears a fringed bodice with her hair in neat 1930s waves, and a gilded drape sweeps behind her to the ground. She’s cast in spelter (régule d’art) with a deep bronze patina and gold highlights, set on a long base of cream onyx and black-and-gold Portoro marble with pale green onyx inserts. On the front, a brass plaque records its history: it was presented as a prize to the Somme breeder who showed the best group of Brittany Spaniels in 1936 and 1937.
