vintage-bouillotte-two-light-lamp-with-50794
Vintage Bouillotte Two-Light Lamp with Silver-Tone Dished Base and Green Tôle Shade

The shade is a deep green, the base is silver-tone, and between them sit two candle lights. This bouillotte lamp brings the quiet order of an old library to a desk or side table.

A silver-tone dished base carries two candle arms around a central rod, and the rod holds a green painted tôle shade above the lights. The shape follows the classic bouillotte form: a shallow dish, a pair of lights and a metal shade that keeps the glare out of your eyes. Green was a favourite colour for these shades, long thought to be easy on the eyes for reading and for long evenings at cards.

The lamp is in good vintage condition, with the light wear you would expect from age and use. The old wiring reaches us as found, and it will be fully rewired in our workshop so it arrives ready for its next home. It suits a writing desk, a bedside table or a reading corner beside an armchair.

Green-shade bouillotte: a vintage two-light bouillotte lamp with a silver-tone dished base and a green tôle shade, rewired in our workshop and ready to use.

DETAILS

Size: overall H 44 cm (17.3 in) · shade top 24 × 13 cm (9.4 × 5.1 in) · shade H 10.8 cm (4.3 in) · dish 20.5 × 13.5 cm (8.1 × 5.3 in).
