The light stayed bright and even through long hours of reading, and the reservoir cast no shadow on the page. The lamp could also slide up and down the rod to the height you needed. A tall rod topped with a ball finial rises from a round, stepped base and a turned baluster stem. On one side hangs a polished cylinder with turned finials, recalling the original oil reservoir. On the other, a curved arm holds the light, with a turned brass fount below and a deep green painted metal shade above, edged in brass.
