vintage-french-miniature-gilt-metal-84463
Vintage French Miniature Gilt Metal Napoleon Bonaparte Bust, Bicorne Hat and Medals, Imperial Eagle Plinth, circa 1950

The Emperor himself, small enough to stand in the palm of your hand. Napoleon is shown in his famous bicorne hat, worn sideways with its cockade, and the high-collared uniform of his campaigns, with fringed epaulettes on the shoulders, a row of buttons down the front, and medals pinned to his chest, including the cross of the Légion d’honneur. His stern, familiar features are crisply cast. He stands on a square plinth decorated at the front with the Imperial eagle, wings spread. The gilt finish has worn softly on the high points, which gives it a warm, handled look. It’s a charming desk piece or curiosity for any lover of French history.

Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with wear to the gilt finish on the high points consistent with age and handling.

Dimensions & Materials

Material: Gilt metal
Includes: One miniature bust

Historical Period: French Empire revival souvenir; circa 1950.

Shipping & Duties: Every piece is hand-wrapped, securely packed and fully insured for its journey to you, wherever you are in the world.
