vintage-louis-xvi-style-gilt-bronze-78802
Vintage Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze Two-Arm Candle Sconce, Urn Finial with Swags, Water-Leaf Tapering Backplate, Single

A classical urn crowns this candle sconce, fluted around its body, hung with tiny garlands of leaves and berries, and topped with a flame-shaped finial. Below it, the backplate tapers down in a long column wrapped with crisp water leaves, ribbed panels and a little pointed drop at the base. Two smooth, angular arms branch out from the middle and rise into wide, fluted drip pans with leaf-cast candle cups. The design is calm and architectural, pure Louis XVI. The gilt finish is bright and lustrous. Made to hold real tapers, it’s a handsome accent beside a mirror, a doorway or above a console.

Condition: Good Vintage Condition.

Dimensions & Materials

Height: 11.4 in (29 cm)
Width: 8.3 in (21 cm)
Depth: 3.7 in (9.5 cm)
Material: Gilt bronze
Includes: One two-arm candle sconce

Historical Period: Louis XVI revival style; circa mid-20th century.

Shipping & Duties: Every piece is hand-wrapped, securely packed and fully insured for its journey to you, wherever you are in the world.
