Its form is a tazza: a shallow dish raised on a stem, named from the Italian word for cup, which Renaissance makers prized for displaying fruit and sweets as if on a small stage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tazza reaches us with wear throughout, as pictured.
