A short pierced scroll arm holds a cup, and in the cup stands a tall glass shade that flares open at the top. The glass has a soft amber tint with flashes of blue, and a frosted band of arabesque patterns runs near the base. Tall shades like this are often called hurricane shades, because they were first made to shield candle flames from draughts and gusts of wind.

The sconces are in very good vintage condition, and the old wiring reaches us as found. They have been kept together as a pair and are ready for a new home.
