vintage-pair-of-geometric-wall-sconces-14579
Vintage Pair of Geometric Wall Sconces, Attributed 1970s, Faceted White Glass Uplights with Polished Brass Points, 27 cm

In the 1970s, German and European glassworks produced some of the boldest lighting of the era. Designers borrowed the crisp geometry of Art Deco and gave it a fresh, modern spin, using faceted white glass and polished metal accents. Wall uplights like these became a favourite, because they lit a room softly by bouncing light off the walls and ceiling.

This pair of wall sconces is attributed to the 1970s. Each sconce is a half-pyramid of white glass, opening upward from a point at the bottom. The glass is made of flat facets, like a cut gem, and each facet catches the light at a slightly different strength, so the shade glows in graded tones of white. A polished brass point finishes the base, adding a bright, glamorous accent. The open top sends light up the wall, filling the room with a soft, indirect glow.

The sconces are in very good condition. Like every lamp we sell, they are checked in our workshop before they are sent, so they arrive ready to use. They suit a hallway, a staircase or a living room, mounted as a pair at eye level or a little higher.

In short, this is a vintage pair of geometric wall uplights in faceted white glass with polished brass points, attributed to the 1970s.
