vintage-pair-of-hollywood-regency-wall-50578
Vintage Pair of Hollywood Regency Wall Sconces, Gold-Tone Brass Crown with Faceted Glass Drops and Beaded Basket, 21 cm

In the mid-twentieth century, European lighting makers brought Hollywood glamour into the home. Their wall lights combined shining gold-tone metal with cascades of faceted glass, borrowing the sparkle of grand chandeliers in a size that suited a bedroom or a hallway. The style, known as Hollywood Regency, is all about light, shine and a touch of theatre.

This pair of wall sconces is a fine example. Each one is shaped like a small crown. Along the top, a row of curved, ribbed brass petals rises from a polished band, and each petal holds a hanging faceted glass drop. The curved petals act as small reflectors, bouncing the light onto the glass drops so they sparkle. Below the band hangs a half-round basket of faceted glass beads, which glitter when the lights are on.

The sconces are in good condition, with the glass intact. Like every lamp we sell, they are checked in our workshop before they are sent, so they arrive ready to use. They bring a warm, glamorous sparkle to a bedroom, a dressing room or a hallway.

In short, this is a vintage pair of Hollywood Regency wall sconces with gold-tone brass crowns, faceted glass drops and beaded glass baskets.
