Two leafy scrolled arms curve out from the stem, and each ends in a round drip pan with a beaded edge and a candle sleeve. Below, the stem ends in a shield-shaped drop with a criss-cross pattern. That pattern is called a lattice or trellis. French designers of the 1700s borrowed it from garden trellises and used it to fill small panels on furniture, metalwork and textiles.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sconces are in very good vintage condition, and the old wiring reaches us as found.
