It holds a single light inside a frosted glass tulip shade. The shade is moulded inside with a dimpled pattern and opens out into a wide rim, waved and folded like petals. Rims like this were usually shaped while the glass was still soft and hot. The glassmaker pinched and crimped the edge by hand or with a tool, so no two shades come out exactly alike.

The sconces are in very good vintage condition, and the old wiring reaches us as found. They have been kept together as a pair and are ready for a new wall. Hang them either side of a bed, a dressing table or a bathroom mirror.

Petal-shade pair: two gilt metal Louis XV style sconces with ruffled frosted glass tulip shades, rewired and sold as a pair.

DETAILS
Material: gilt metal, frosted glass
Style-Period: Louis XV style · mid 20th century
Shipping: professionally packed, fully insured, worldwide · we handle the paperwork and pay all import duties · nothing to settle on delivery
Electrical: fully rewired in our workshop before dispatch · delivered working and ready to install · wall installation by a qualified electrician recommended
Condition: very good vintage condition
Lampshade: Glass shades included
Returns: accepted within 30 days
Sold as a pair
