Designers borrowed columns, pilasters and classical borders and shrank them down to fit furniture and light fittings. Each one has a long, tapering backplate shaped like a pilaster, the flat decorative column set into the walls of classical buildings. Its face is finely fluted, crowned with a leafy crest at the top and finished with a small acorn-shaped drop below. Two arms with a twisted-rope moulding curve out and up from the backplate, ending in fluted cups that hold the lights. The brass-tone metal has a warm patina from age.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sconces are in very good condition, with the patina of age and a little verdigris on one of the lower drops. Like every lamp we sell, they are checked in our workshop before they are sent, so they arrive ready to use.
