Each has an oval bevelled mirror plate set in a gilt metal frame cast in the Rocaille style, with scrolls, small flowers and leaves, and a shell-like crest at the top. Below the frame, a scrolled stem ends in a leafy drop. Two long arms curve out to each side, edged with leaves and scrolls, and end in leaf-shaped drip pans holding the lights. One mirror is still clear and bright. The other has developed a soft, even foxing that gives it a misty, silvery depth.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sconces are sturdy and substantial, each weighing 980 g.
