In French, this design is called \"embrasse\", the word for the corded tie-back that holds a heavy curtain open. Louis XVI style metalwork often borrowed from the soft furnishings of a room, so the lights matched the curtains they hung beside.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe set is in very good vintage condition, with its gilding well kept, and the old wiring reaches us as found.
