The shiny surface reflects the whole room around it.

The lamp base is made of chrome-tone metal. It has a round stepped foot, a narrow waist and a flat disc, then a large rounded body under a second disc. The top is a tall flared neck. Chrome plating is a very thin layer of chromium bonded onto metal by electricity. It gives a hard, mirror-like finish that doesn't tarnish, which is why designers of the 1970s loved it for lamps and furniture.

The lamp base is in good vintage condition, with one small scratch. Before dispatch, it will be fully rewired in our workshop. It's ready for another chapter in a good home. It works on a bedside table, a sideboard or a desk, with a white or coloured shade.

The lamp: a 1970s chrome-tone metal lamp base with stacked sphere and disc forms.

DETAILS

Size: Height 36 cm (14.2 in) · Width 20 cm (7.9 in) — about the height of a magnum of champagne
Material: chrome-tone metal
Style-Period: Space Age style · 1970s
Shipping: professionally packed, fully insured, worldwide · we handle the paperwork and pay all import duties · nothing to settle on delivery
Electrical: fully rewired in our workshop before dispatch · US, UK or EU plug fitted at no extra charge · delivered working and ready to use
Condition: good vintage condition · one small scratch
Lampshade: Sold without a shade — leaving you free to choose one that suits your room
Returns: accepted within 30 days
