Pair of Vintage Louis XVI Style Bronze Wall Sconces, Frosted Glass Rose Tulip Shades, Laurel Leaf Arms and Ribbon Bow Backplates
A frosted glass rose blooms at the end of each arm, its petals curled open around the bulb so the light comes through soft and milky white. The arms sweep out in an S-curve, wrapped in laurel leaves with a beaded scroll and a small flower where they meet the wall. A leafy sprig with a bud curls up above each one. The backplates are cast with a ribbon bow, a draped swag and acanthus, and end in a hanging husk drop below, all in the Louis XVI taste. The bronze has a warm gold finish. Hung either side of a bed, a mirror or a fireplace, the pair gives a gentle, romantic light.
