Pair of Vintage Painted Bronze Lily Bouquet Wall Sconces, Louis XVI Style Ribbon Bow Tie, Orange Lilies with Buds, One Light
Each of these sconces is a little bouquet of lilies, gathered by hand and tied at the stems with a ribbon bow. An open lily blooms at the top, its petals painted in warm shades of coral, amber and gold, and cupping the light socket at its heart. Two slender buds curve out on either side among long green leaves, and below the bow the cut stems fan out to neat pointed tips. The pale blue-green ribbon loops into a soft, rippling bow, a classic Louis XVI motif. The hand-painted colours have softened with age into a gentle, faded patina. They bring a touch of garden romance to a bedroom, a hallway or either side of a mirror.
