Vintage Small Bust of Composer Richard Wagner on Ionic Capital Plinth, Named, Green Patina Finish, Music Room Decor
The great German composer looks out from this little bust with a firm, determined gaze, his hair swept back, his jaw set and a loose bow tie knotted at his collar. His name, “Wagner”, is cast in relief on a plaque at the front, set on a classical Ionic capital with curling volutes and a ring of water leaves over a square plinth. A mottled green and dark brown patina covers the whole figure, worn in places to reveal warmer tones, which gives it the look of an old garden bronze. Small busts of famous composers like this once stood on pianos and in music rooms across Europe. It’s a lovely gift for an opera lover, a pianist or a music teacher.
