Pair of Vintage Italian Carved Giltwood Wall Sconces, Fruit Basket with Leaf Plume and Ribbon Bow, Single Light, Tole Tulip Cup
A carved basket overflowing with round fruit sits at the heart of each sconce, crowned with a tall spray of pointed leaves that fans out like a burst of sunlight. A ribbon wraps the basket and loops into a bow at one side, and below it, curling acanthus leaves trail down to a scrolled tip. The carving is finished in rich gold leaf, softly rubbed in places to warm wood beneath. A single metal arm curves out from the base and ends in a tulip-shaped tole cup with pointed petals, holding a candle sleeve. The pair is mirrored, so the arms reach outward when hung either side of a mirror, a bed or a doorway. They’re full of Italian charm and abundance.
