Vintage Black Stone and Brass Catchall Tray, Ashtray or Bookend, Cream Inlay Accent
This is a piece built to do more than one job — heavy and solid enough to work as a single bookend, shallow enough at the top to double as a catchall tray or ashtray. Multi-use objects like this were a staple of mid-century decor, valued as much for material contrast as for function.
The body is a solid black stone block, square and beveled at the edges, bisected cleanly by a thin cream inlay strip running straight through its center. Set into the top is a round brass dish, its surface carrying the scratched, warm patina that comes only from genuine handling over the years — real use rather than applied distressing.
The piece presents in very good vintage condition, with minor edge wear to the black stone consistent with age and the brass dish showing its characteristic worn patina throughout.
The piece is packed securely and shipped fully insured. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
