1950s Style Wall Sconce, Ribbed White Glass Shade, Curved Brass-Tone Arm with Ball Finials, Black Cup, Mid-Century Wall Light

One elegant curve of metal and a column of ribbed white glass: this sconce says a great deal with very little. On a plain wall, it reads like a quick sketch in gold, black and white. It is a light with the lightness and wit of mid-century design.

A round brass-tone wall plate carries a short straight arm, which sweeps down into a deep curve and back up to hold the shade. Small ball finials mark the joints and the tip. A black cup holds a tall, tapering shade of white glass with fine vertical ribs, pointing upward. With the shade pointing up, much of the light is thrown onto the wall and ceiling, which gives a soft, indirect glow rather than glare.

The sconce is in very good vintage condition, with natural tarnish to the metal, and our workshop fully rewires it before it leaves. Its metal keeps the soft tarnish it has earned over the years. Beside a bed, in a reading corner or along a hallway, it gives a gentle, warm light.

Parts: a brass-tone metal wall plate and curved arm with ball finials, a black cup, and a ribbed white glass shade.
