1960s Style Double Wall Sconce, Crossed Gold-Tone Arms, Milky White Glass Cone Shades, Mid-Century Wall Light

Two slender stems cross at the wall and open like a pair of flowers, each holding a glowing white cone. On a plain wall, the sconce reads like a quick, graceful line drawing. It is a light with the easy optimism of mid-century design.

A round gold-tone wall plate carries two curved, tapering arms that cross in front of it. Their tails sweep down below the plate, and their tops each end in a rounded gold-tone cup. Each cup holds a long, cone-shaped shade of milky white glass, flaring outward and upward. Milky white glass is made by adding opacifiers to the glass batch, so the whole shade glows evenly instead of showing the bulb as a single bright point.

The sconce is in very good vintage condition, and our workshop fully rewires it before it leaves. It arrives with both of its glass shades. Hung beside a bed, next to a mirror or along a hallway, it gives a soft, even light.
