Art Deco Articulated Metal Desk LampBlack Veined Marble Base, Adjustable Hood, 1930s–40s Attribution

In the 1930s, the desk lamp became a symbol of the modern, efficient workplace. Designers stripped away ornament and focused on function: strong metal arms, simple hoods and solid bases. These lamps were made to put light exactly where it was needed, and their clean lines have kept them popular ever since.

This desk lamp is attributed to the 1930s–40s and is in the Art Deco style. It is articulated, meaning its arm is made of hinged sections that pivot at screwed joints, so you can raise, lower and angle the light as you work. At the end of the arm sits a rounded metal hood that directs the light down onto the desk. The lamp stands on a heavy base of black marble with white veining, which keeps it steady when the arm is extended.

The lamp is in good overall condition, with wear to the metal finish consistent with its age. Like every lamp we sell, it is checked in our workshop before it is sent, so it arrives ready to use. It belongs on a writing desk, a work table or a home office.

In short, this is a vintage Art Deco articulated desk lamp with a silver-tone metal hood on a black marble base, attributed to the 1930s–40s. It reaches 46 cm fully extended and is exactly as pictured.
