Candlestick Table Lamp in Gilt Metal, Fluted Stem with Leaf-Cast Cup and Base, Candle Sleeve, Cream Cone Shade

Styled like a classic candlestick, this lamp keeps the grace of candlelight while giving you electric light at the flick of a switch. Its warm gilt stem glows beneath a plain cream shade. It is a quiet, classic light that suits almost any traditional room.

A tapering, fluted stem of gilt metal rises from a round base, which is decorated with a band of cast leaves and gadrooning. A leafy knop sits at the foot of the stem and a leaf-cast cup at the top. From the cup rises a cream candle sleeve with moulded drips, beneath a cream cone shade. After casting, fine detail like this was traditionally sharpened by hand with small chisels and punches, a process called chasing, which gives the leaves and gadroons their crisp edges.

The lamp is in very good vintage condition, and our workshop fully rewires it before it leaves. It arrives with its cream shade, ready for its next bedside. On a bedside table, a desk or a side table, it gives a soft, warm light and a touch of classic French style.
