This lamp follows that construction closely: a stacked column of faceted glass blocks rises from a stepped square glass base to a small metal collar beneath the shade, paired with a tall white pleated fabric shade. Stacking faceted blocks rather than cutting one continuous column is partly a practical choice — it's far easier to cut and polish flat facets on individual blocks than on one long piece of glass, and the repeated joints let light break and scatter at multiple points along the stem rather than just at the surface.

The textile trim at the shade's edges has been lightly refreshed, though this is barely visible. The lamp has clearly been well kept, and now moves forward to a new setting. Suited to a bedside table, a console, or a formal living room setting.
