Gilt Brass Twin-Arm Table Lamp, Marble Base, Ring Finial, 1930s

The twin-arm lamp on a marble base was a favored form through the early-to-mid twentieth century, combining the weight and formality of stone with the warmth of brass to make a piece substantial enough for a desk or console. A ring finial at the top and two symmetrical scrolled arms gave the design a clean, almost architectural silhouette, letting the material contrast between marble and metal carry most of the visual interest.

This lamp is worked in gilt metal, its central column rising from a rectangular black marble base to a ring finial at the top, with two scrolled candle-style arms branching outward and downward at the midpoint, each ending in a socket and drip pan. Note how the column's slight taper and turned collar details echo the scale of the marble base beneath it, keeping the proportions balanced between the tall vertical stem and the twin horizontal arms. The lamp is fitted with two matching pleated white fabric shades.

The piece reaches us in very good vintage condition, with a small mark visible on the column consistent with age and handling. As a lamp, it has been fully rewired through our workshop, delivered working and ready to use. Placed on a desk or console, its double-arm spread makes it a genuinely useful source of light across a wider surface.
