Gilt Metal Figural Table Lamp, Winged Female Figure, Wood Base, Frosted Glass Shade

The figural lamp base turned lighting into small-scale sculpture, taking a human or mythological figure and building the light fixture around it rather than adding decoration to a plain column. A winged figure in particular gave designers a natural upward gesture to work with, arms raised as if lifting the light itself, a device popular across several decorative revival styles through the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

This lamp is built around a standing winged female figure worked in gilt metal, arms raised overhead to a small ring that supports the socket and shade above, set on a slender column rising from a turned wood base. Note how the wings are worked as full, feathered forms extending to either side rather than folded close to the body, giving the figure real width and presence despite the lamp's relatively narrow overall footprint. The piece is fitted with a frosted glass shade in a tapering barrel form.

The piece reaches us in very good vintage condition. As a lamp, it has been fully rewired through our workshop, delivered working and ready to use. Placed on a console or side table, its sculptural figure makes it as much an object to look at as a light source.

Worked in gilt metal with a turned wood base and frosted glass shade, the lamp stands 61 cm high and 12 cm wide. Every piece we send is professionally packed by hand, fully insured, and shipped worldwide with all import duties and tariffs already paid on our side — there is nothing further for you to settle when it arrives.
