French workshops still cast the model today in true bronze, stamped as such — the old vocabulary in fresh metal, made for rooms that will use it for the next fifty years rather than admire it for the last hundred.

This is a set of three matching sconces, French, of contemporary production, cast in bronze — each stamped with the word BRONZE, the French trade's guarantee of the alloy: each sconce an urn-form backplate with a leaf-collared tapering body, gadrooned foot, and acorn finial, rising to a looped crest, carrying two leaf-dressed scrolled arms to beaded drip pans and fluted candle sockets under wax-drip sleeves. Find the small BRONZE stamp on each — French makers are entitled to strike it only on true bronze casts, so the word in the metal does the work a certificate would, three times over. The set is without accident, in good condition, with light wear to the candle sleeves. All three are fully rewired through our workshop before dispatch and arrive prepared for wall installation, in working order.

The bronze carries a bright, even surface across the set, the only wear the sleeves' gentle ageing, as the photographs show. Whoever hung these three before you kept the run matched and whole. They are ready for a corridor, a dining room's wall, or three beats up a staircase.
