Pair of 1970s Smoked Glass Wall Sconces, Rectangular Panels and Steel Frames, Veca Attributed
Three panels of smoky grey glass fold around each light like a half-open screen, giving this pair a cool, architectural glow. They bring a quietly glamorous 1970s note to a hallway, a living room or a bedroom.
Each sconce has a compact steel bracket fixed with visible hex bolts, holding a socket at its centre. Three rectangular panels of smoked glass stand around the socket, one at the back and two angled at the sides, so the light spills softly up and outward while the bulb stays partly screened. The bolt heads are left on show on purpose. Many 1970s designers treated plain hardware as part of the look, and let the construction stand as decoration.
The pair is in good vintage condition. The glass panels are intact as photographed, and the metal socket holders show signs of age. The original wall fixings are missing and will need replacing. The old wiring reaches us as found, and both sconces will be fully rewired in our workshop, ready to cast their smoky glow for many years. Hang them either side of a bed, a mirror or a doorway.
Three-panel pair: two vintage 1970s steel wall sconces, each with three smoked glass panels around the light and exposed bolt details, rewired in our workshop and ready to install.
