Wall sconces with a quilted, diamond-stitched diffuser panel translated an upholstery technique into lighting design — the raised grid and domed studs give a flat panel real texture and a bit of shadow play once lit, rather than relying on shape alone to carry the visual interest.

Each sconce here has a tall, shield-form diffuser panel in opaque white, worked with a diamond-quilted pattern and set with rows of gold-toned domed studs, mounted on an angular black metal and brass frame. The quilted pattern does double duty as a lit fixture — the raised ridges catch and diffuse light differently than the flat recessed diamonds between them, so the panel reads as textured even when lit from directly behind, rather than flattening into a plain glowing shape the way an unpatterned diffuser would.

Condition is good, consistent with vintage use, with some signs of wear as noted by the seller. Both sconces have clearly been well kept, and now move forward together to a new setting. Suited to a hallway, a bedroom, or flanking a headboard.

The quilted panel is the standout feature here, giving these sconces a tactile, upholstered quality that's unusual for wall lighting of any period.
