Two horses stand on stone plinths, each with a foreleg raised, facing each other across a wall. Hung side by side, they make a calm, balanced pair.

Each print shows a classical horse statue on a plinth, drawn in soft greys and browns on a cream ground. Around the image runs a border of flowing handwritten script, inside a wide cream and gilt-tone frame. The two horses face in opposite directions, so they mirror each other when hung together. The pose, with one foreleg lifted mid-step, recalls the Horses of Saint Mark in Venice. These four ancient bronze horses have been copied and drawn by artists for centuries.

The prints are in very good vintage condition. They have hung well in another home, and they're ready for a new wall. Large enough to fill a space, they suit a living room, a dining room, a hallway or above a bed or sofa.
