Pair of Louis XVI Style Two-Light Candelabra, Silver-Tone Metal, Fluted Columns, Beaded Round Bases, Urn Finials

Four flames instead of two: a pair of two-light candelabra doubles the glow on a table without adding clutter. These keep to a slim, upright classical line, a fluted column rising to a pair of curving arms. They bring a quiet formality to a dinner or a mantelpiece.

Each candelabrum stands on a round, stepped base edged with beading, from which a fluted column rises. At the top, two scrolled arms curve out to either side, each ending in a candle cup set on a wide dished drip pan. A small urn-shaped finial crowns the centre. The dished rings beneath the candle cups are called bobèches: they catch dripping wax and keep it off the table and the arms.

The pair is in very good vintage condition, with tarnish to the finish. They are offered uncleaned, so their next owner can decide how bright they should be. Set at either end of a mantelpiece or down the centre of a dining table with tall tapers, they give an evening a warm classical frame.
