Pair of Vintage Louis XVI Style Gilt Metal Candlestick Table Lamps, Neoclassical Acanthus Leaf Hexagonal Bases, Faux Candle Sleeves
Each lamp starts as a classic candlestick. The six-sided base is edged with panels and small rosettes, and acanthus leaves climb from its centre. A leaf-carved knop and a gadrooned cup rise above, topped by a flower-shaped bobèche. The gilt finish has softened with age into a warm, mellow gold, deepest in the recesses of the leaves. Both lamps are fitted with new ivory-tone candle sleeves by our workshop, so the pair matches perfectly. Place them either side of a bed, on a buffet or at each end of a mantel.
