Small Oval Louis XVI Style Wall Mirror, Gilt Metal Frame with Ribbon-Bow Crest and Beaded Borders
A ribbon tied in a bow crowns this little oval mirror, as if it had just been unwrapped. Its gilt frame is fine and delicate, made for a small wall or a quiet corner. It is a romantic accent with a classical line.
The mirror is oval, set in a gilt metal frame with a reeded outer border and an inner row of small beads. At the top, a cast ribbon bow with trailing ends forms the crest. The frame is designed to hang on the wall. The tiny beads around the glass, known as pearling, catch the light at regular intervals and give the frame a jewel-like edge.
The mirror is in good vintage condition, and the glass needs cleaning. It is offered as found, and a gentle clean of the glass will bring back its reflection. Hung beside a dressing table, in a hallway or as part of a gallery wall, it adds a small, bright point of light and a Louis XVI flourish.
Put simply: an oval mirror in a gilt metal frame with reeded and beaded borders and a ribbon-bow crest.
