Picture a low sideboard in a European apartment in the years when designers were looking to the moon for their shapes. The overhead light is off and a record is turning. Two columns of glass hold the room's light the way ice holds sun: gathered, faceted and softened. This is a lamp for that kind of evening, when a room is lit more for how it feels than for reading.

It has two lights on one base. A pair of glass cylinders sits on square chrome-finish stems, and the stems rise from a rectangular wood plinth with a chrome-finish top plate. The glass is covered in a raised hexagonal pattern. Glass with raised texture bends light in many directions at once, so the bulb shows as a grid of small highlights rather than one bright point.

The lamp is in very good vintage condition. We have kept it as it was made, and it goes to you ready for its next room. Placed at the end of a sideboard or on a bedside table, it gives a low, textured light that works as well in a modern room as in a period one.
