Vintage Art Deco Style Table Lamp, Tulip-Shaped Taupe Glass Globe on Silver-Tone Acanthus Base
A large glass globe shaped like a half-open flower bud sits on top, its petals curling at the rim. In a soft taupe colour, it gives a warm, quiet light.
The globe is a smooth taupe glass, moulded as a tulip bud with a scalloped, petal-like top. It sits in a cylindrical holder on a silver-tone metal base, with a collar of cast acanthus leaves and a beaded band above a round stepped foot. Milky glass like this, often called opaline, is made with added minerals that make it cloudy. When it's lit, it glows evenly and hides the shape of the bulb inside.
The lamp is in very good vintage condition. Before it goes out, it will be fully rewired in our workshop. Look after it, and it will give many more years of light. It suits a bedside table, a hall table or a desk.
Recap: an Art Deco style lamp with a tulip-shaped taupe glass globe on a silver-tone acanthus base.
