Vintage Large Cut Glass Trumpet Vase on Square Pedestal Foot, Fan and Diamond Cut Pattern
This tall vase flares out wide at the top, and every part of it is cut. Fans, stars and a band of tiny diamonds catch the light from every side.
The vase is heavy clear glass with a trumpet-shaped body on a short stem and a square stepped foot. The body is cut with fans and stars above a deep band of criss-cross diamonds, and the rim is finished in a sawtooth edge. A small foil label sits on the foot. The diamond band is made by cutting rows of grooves across each other. This leaves hundreds of tiny raised pyramids, and each one acts like a small prism.
The vase is in very good vintage condition. It has been looked after carefully, and it's ready for its next home. It holds a tall bunch of lilies, roses or branches, and it suits a dining table, a sideboard or a hall console.
