Vintage Louis XVI Style Two-Tone Column Table Lamp Base on Black Polished Stone Plinth

Tall and slender, with a dark stone base and touches of gold, this lamp suits a desk or console where you want height without bulk.

The lamp rises from a square black polished stone plinth on four small brass-toned ball feet. The stem is built up in stages: a fluted column at the bottom, a round, smooth bulb in the middle, then a shorter fluted section and a beaded cap at the top. The metal has a dark patina, with brighter gold-toned rings and beading picking out each join. Small ball feet like these often have a practical job. They lift the base just enough to let the cord pass underneath and to keep the stone from scratching the table.

The lamp is in good vintage condition, with natural wear to the patina. It has been kept in working order and is ready for a new desk or side table. Set it on a desk, a console or a bedside table, with a shade of your choice.
