Small wall lights like these were made to give a hallway or bedroom a soft glow, without taking up any space on a table.

The two sconces are made of brass-tone metal with floral decoration, in the Art Deco style. Art Deco designers drew flowers flatter and more geometric than the long, curving stems of Art Nouveau before them. The petals were often reduced to simple, repeated shapes that suited metal casting.

The sconces are in good vintage condition, and the old wiring reaches us as found. They have stayed together as a pair since they were made and are ready for a new wall. Hang them on either side of a bed, a mirror or a doorway.
