Vintage Pair of Classic Style Wooden Wall Sconces in Beige with Gold-Tone Finish

Wood brings a softer, warmer feel to a wall light than metal does. This pair, painted beige and picked out in gold, was made to give a room a quiet, classic touch.

The two sconces are made of wood and finished in beige with gold-tone details, in a classic style. They are very light, so they are easy to hang. Painted and gilded wood like this is usually built up over gesso, a smooth layer of chalk and glue brushed onto the bare wood. Gesso gives the paint and gold a fine, even surface to sit on.

The sconces are in very good vintage condition. They have been kept as a matched pair and are ready to light another room. Hang them on either side of a bed, a mirror or a doorway.
