Vintage Pair of Cut Glass Decanters with Silver-Tone Neck Mounts and Stoppers, Star and Palmette Decoration

Two slim bottles stand side by side, each with a tall shining collar and a round capped stopper. Cut stars and criss-cross lines in the glass catch the light below.

Each bottle has a tapering body in clear glass, cut with criss-cross bands and stars. The tall neck is a silver-tone metal mount, finished at the shoulder with a band of small palmettes, and the stopper has a matching capped top. The palmette is a fan-shaped ornament based on the leaves of a palm tree. It comes from ancient Greek design and was much used in Louis XVI and Empire style decoration.

The bottles are in very good vintage condition. They have been well looked after, and that care goes with them. Use them for liqueur or spirits on a bar cart, or as toilet water bottles on a dressing table.
