Vintage Pair of Hollywood Regency Style White and Gold-Tone Globe Wall Sconces

White and gold is a combination that never quite goes out of style. This pair brings it to the wall in the simplest possible form: a soft white ball on a small gold-trimmed base.

Each sconce has a round white base rimmed in gold tone, rising to a faceted white cone and a polished gold-tone ball joint. A short white collar holds a round white glass globe with a soft, satin surface. The white-and-gold look is often called Hollywood Regency, a style born in 1930s Los Angeles film sets and stars' homes. It came back strongly in the 1970s and 1980s, when glossy white and bright gold filled bedrooms and bathrooms on both sides of the Atlantic.

The sconces are in very good vintage condition, and the old wiring reaches us as found. They have been kept together as a pair and are ready for a new room. They suit a bathroom, a dressing area or either side of a bed.

White-and-gold pair: two white and gold-tone wall sconces with white glass globes, rewired and sold as a pair.
